SCROLLS
Paper or cloth? Both. I dip my brushes into ink or oxides and then let what there is to emerge appear.
The calligraphy scrolls on cloth are juxtaposed with my ceramic vessels. The scrolls are based on Danish vintage linen. The inset is made of a porcelain mix that I apply to the fabric.
The calligraphy on paper follows a more traditional approach, though the mounting may take a different form.
I follow a red thread in this work too, as I’m always curious about finding the key to the essential.
What motivates our desire when we’re done with trimming the fat of loss that feeds it? I pose this question to myself when I work with paper, fabric, and, clay, as the case is also with my Danish Testament project.
