On the full moon I took out the rose of a thousand leaves from an infusing oil, and I set out to finish what I started four months ago: a Valentine’s Day potion for the kissing lips.
I added more rose to the concoction in the form of damascena absolute, and then frankincense and sandalwood oil, vetiver oil, clary sage oil, and then a secret weapon, also all-natural.
I got a small batch here full of mojo for my Valentine story: if on a winter night, a lover... echoing Italo Calvino. For as my own tradition goes, when I play the alchemist, I do it with cards and magic and the writers before me who were obsessed with both, as befits the day for love declarations, when the infinite is invoked.
Twelve jars
